About Us
The University was founded on the idea to form the human person according to the Christian anthropological vision. Today, most college campuses have strayed from the original purpose of the university.
St. John Henry Newman knew this well, and he writes "practically speaking, the University cannot fulfill its object duly without the Church's assistance.. the Church is necessary for its integrity." (Idea of a University).
The Institute serves as a beacon to the rest of the campus of the University of Kentucky in the realm of truth and integrity. Its goal and purpose is to teach students how to think about the liberal arts critically and uprightly, guided by the revealed wisdom of Christ and His Church.
St. John Henry Newman, pray for us!
